Universal Mixed Martial Arts

What is Boxing? Boxing is a form of fighting with gloved fists which evolved out of bare knuckle fighting dating back to the 17th century. The sport of boxing was developed in the 1860′s with the drawing up of the Queensberry Rules and proper regulations. It takes place between two contestants in a roped-off ring 14-20 feet square, controlled at all times by a referee.

It is an excellent sport for improving strenght, agility and reflexes and it is a rigorous sport enjoyed almost entirely of young men and boys from the age of 12.

Getting started. The boxer apart from the clothing of shorts and vest, boots, a protector, mouth guard and gloves needs no special equipment. All boxing contests operate under strict rules and supervision in order to limit the physical injury that may occur. In order to learn the basics of boxing it is essential to have proper training and supervision, which can be gained by joining a club who teaches it. The club will give you opportunities for training and for learning the sport by sparring with more experienced boxers.

We do not have exclusive Boxing program at the moment due to minimal public demand. Boxing is incorporated with our Muay Thai/Kickboxing program at this time.
